Chemical assessments that are needed due to legal interventions (DUI, domestic altercations, etc..) are often not covered by insurance, therefore I do not currently accept insurance. I often advise clients not to use insurance for chemical evaluations as they will then become part of your permanent medical record, which could lead to potential increase in rates or rejection by future carriers. Your medical records could also become problematic if you are involved in a court case, a custody situation, or apply for life insurance- so think wisely before you use your insurance for chemical assessments.
In order to use your insurance for counseling sessions, you will need to have a diagnosable mental health disorder. I often discourage my clients from using their insurance for counseling sessions due to this requirement and the potential effect it could have on future medical decisions and insurance policies. Once insurance is used for therapy, the insurance company has access to personal records and has all of the decision making power over your progress and continued payment for services. I believe this should be left up to the counselor and the client to determine, not a faceless employee of a large insurance organization. ( Clients are given an invoice after every session and can determine if they would like to submit it to their insurance for possible reimbursement.)
Cash, check, Venmo, and all major credit cards accepted for payment. (A nominal fee is added to each credit card transaction) and often split payments are available based on financial need for chemical assessments / evaluations.
If you fail to show for your scheduled counseling or assessment appointment, and you have not notified us at least 24 hours in advance, you will be required to pay the full cost of the session. If you do not provide notice of cancellation and do not log on for the meeting, you will be required to pre-pay before scheduling your next appointment.
